Battle of the Books
Battle of the Books
Is your child in the rising 4th or 5th grade class? Do they love to read? Then sign them up to be part of Battle of the Books!Click here for Battle of the Books permission slip. Please return to Ms. Mock
Battle of the Books is a reading competition designed to improve reading and comprehension while building enthusiasm for reading using a fun and unique competition format. Students will compete in teams to demonstrate their knowledge of 10 preselected books. Students need to read a minimum of FIVE of the preselected books by the end of November 2016 to be eligible to serve on a team.
We recommend that students read a minimum of three of the books during the summer break. These students will be invited to begin forming teams in the fall. Students are encouraged to keep a Battle of the Books journal with notes about each book.
